Woofer and Hoofer

Take part in this year’s Hoofer Woofer walk on June 5, 2010 and raise much needed funds for the Minnesota Valley Humane Society.

Minnesota Valley Humane Society will be holding their 27th annual Woofer and Hoofer walk on June 5, at Burnsville Alimagnet Park beginning at 10:45 a.m.

Participants and their pets will walk to raise funds for the pet charity located in Burnsville.

Walkers, wishing to part take in the event should build their own fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/mvhs or contact the Humane Society to obtain a pledge sheet.

Registration for the event will take place on the day of the walk at 9:00am at Alimagnet Park.

·         Walk is 2.5 miles through the wooded area of Alimagnet Park in Burnsville. The park is located on Cty Rd 11, two blocks north of Cty Rd 42.

·         All animals must have current vaccinations, rabies shots and not be in heat.

·         To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, please tell children to ask before petting the animals of others.

·         Breakfast and lunch items will be available throughout the morning, with donations gladly accepted.

·         The Minnesota Valley Humane Society has been serving the Greater South Metro Area since 1981. Founded by volunteers who fostered animals in their homes, they eventually raised money to purchase a shelter in 1991.

·         MVHS currently resides in the old Burnsville City Hall, Police and Fire Station building. Since then we have been working hard to improve the lives of animals.

·         Since 1991, the Minnesota Valley Humane Society has found homes for over 45,000 animals and has one of the highest adoption rates in the country!

·         The Minnesota Valley Humane Society promotes healthy relationships between people and animals by offering classes for new and struggling pet parents as well as innovative Canine U Dog Training many Humane Education programs for children and adults.
